Terms & Conditions of your Registration in the  Bone Dysplasias 2026: Simpósio de Displasias Ósseas (UNbreakable Alliance Project) 

Ao inscrever-se no Bone Dysplasias 2026: Simpósio de Displasias Ósseas e nas suas atividades, aceita e concorda com os seguintes Termos & Condições:

INTRODUÇÃO

O Bone Dysplasias 2026: Simpósio de Displasias Ósseas assinala um marco significativo ao celebrarmos o 10.º aniversário da Aliança Inquebrável, um projeto pioneiro e de continuidade da Associação Portuguesa de Osteogénese Imperfeita (APOI) que visa apoiar o diálogo e a cooperação nacional e internacional entre especialistas, doentes, familiares e outros stakeholders envolvidos na área das displasias ósseas.
A Conferência é organizada por uma Comissão Organizadora que reúne diversas entidades, entre as quais a Associação Portuguesa de Osteogénese Imperfeita (APOI) e a Equipa Multidisciplinar de Displasias Ósseas da ULS Santa Maria, membro da Rede Europeia de Referência em Doenças Ósseas Raras (ERN-BOND), com os seus centros afiliados nomeadamente a ULS Almada Seixal, a ULS S José e o Hospital CUF Descobertas (doravante denominada “Aliança INquebrável” ou “Organizador”). Com o objetivo de expandir e fortalecer esta Aliança INquebrável este ano um novo parceiro, a Associação Nacional de Displasias Ósseas (ANDO Portugal), também se juntou à Core Team.
A APOI é uma associação de doentes, sem fins lucrativos, que visa promover a cooperação nacional e internacional e é responsável pela gestão do orçamento e inscrição na Conferência em nome da Comissão Organizadora.

DEFINIÇÕES

Conferência: refere-se ao “Bone Dysplasias 2026: Simpósio de Displasias Ósseas” e atividades relacionadas, como eventos sociais, comunicação e processo de inscrição.
Organizador: refere-se às entidades responsáveis pela organização da Conferência.
Participante: refere-se a qualquer pessoa física ou jurídica que se inscreva e/ou participe na Conferência e/ou nas suas atividades relacionadas, como eventos sociais.
Parte e Partes: referem-se ao Organizador e aos Participantes.

PRINCÍPIOS

Os Organizadores comprometem-se a respeitar um conjunto de princípios que se encontram publicados no site da Conferência. Os Participantes comprometem-se a respeitar esses princípios, nomeadamente assegurando debates e interações abertas e respeitosas com os oradores e outros Participantes com base no respeito mútuo e apoiando o diálogo e a cooperação nacionais e internacionais.

RESERVAS E INSCRIÇÕES

Este é um evento solidário, o contributo de cada um dos participantes tem como objetivo ajudar a compensar despesa e custos com a organização. Por isso, o valor do seu contributo ou apoio financeiro será tratado como um “Donativo de apoio ao Projeto Aliança INquebrável”, sendo emitido o respetivo recibo que lhe confere benefícios fiscais em sede do IRS.

Todos os pagamentos devem ser feitos em Euros. Os pagamentos poderão ser efetuados através de MBWay (938 932 336) sem custos adicionais para os Participantes. Os participantes que solicitarem o pagamento por transferência bancária deverão cobrir as taxas de transferência bancária aplicáveis.Em caso de desistência, até ao dia 16 de abril, pode ser solicitado o reembolso do contributo já realizado ou a transferência da inscrição para o nome de outro participante. Após esta data não há lugar a qualquer reembolso ou transmissão de nome, inclusive em caso de não participação, seja qual for o motivo.

MENORES DE IDADE

Os primeiros dois dias da Conferência e as suas atividades foram projetadas para participantes adultos, pelo que não será possível a presença de menores.
No entanto, no terceiro dia (23 maio) as atividades são particularmente dirigidas às famílias pelo que a Organização tem muito gosto em acolher também os menores  de idade. 
Para assegurar o cumprimento de todos os requisitos, os menores de idade que desejem participar da Conferência devem:
– obter consentimento prévio por escrito dos pais, inclusive com estes Termos & Condições;
– Preencher o formulário de inscrição com todos os dados solicitados e autorizar que o seu nome e restantes dados identificativos seja fornecido a terceiros específicos (como, por exemplo, a companhia de seguros). 
– estar sempre acompanhados por um adulto que tenha autoridade sobre eles (como os seus pais, uma pessoa com autoridade parental ou o seu professor) e que aceite total responsabilidade por eles.

LIMITAÇÃO DE RESPONSABILIDADE

Esta Conferência é organizada na base de boa-fé e melhor esforço, pelo que os Organizadores não serão responsáveis por quaisquer danos consequenciais, incidentais, indiretos ou punitivos, causados por agentes externos ao evento, independentemente de tal responsabilidade resultar de violação de contrato, ato ilícito, responsabilidade objetiva ou outra situação. Os Organizadores não serão responsabilizados por qualquer perda ou dano de itens pessoais dos Participantes ou ferimentos causados em qualquer local utilizado pela Conferência ou relacionado com a mesma.

FORÇA MAIOR

Nenhuma das Partes será responsável perante a outra pelo descumprimento temporário ou definitivo de todas ou parte das suas obrigações contratuais quando o cumprimento de tal Parte (a “Parte Afetada”) for impedido ou atrasado, inter alia, por inundação, seca, incêndio, guerra, motim, greve, ato de terrorismo, epidemia, pandemia, bloqueio, ato governamental ou qualquer outra causa fora do controle razoável da Parte Afetada (doravante denominada “Força Maior”). O Organizador informará os Participantes da existência de Força Maior e, quando aplicável, proporá meios para remediar ou mitigar o impacto da Força Maior. Tal comunicação poderá ser feita por correio eletrónico ou por comunicado publicado no site da Conferência.

Em caso de Força Maior, as obrigações contratuais ficarão suspensas enquanto durar o evento da Força Maior. Para evitar dúvidas, as aplicações das condições de Força Maior não estarão sujeitas a quaisquer condições adicionais além das expressamente aqui estabelecidas.

ADAPTAÇÕES DA CONFERÊNCIA

Todas as Partes concordam e aceitam que os Organizadores possam adaptar o formato da Conferência para levar em conta fatores externos, como restrições relacionadas com pandemias. Embora o plano seja realizar uma conferência totalmente presencial, os Organizadores podem optar por uma conferência híbrida, uma conferência totalmente online e/ou decidir mudar as datas da Conferência para garantir um nível mais elevado de participação. Considera-se que os Organizadores cumpriram todas as suas obrigações através da organização e realização da Conferência, independentemente do seu formato. Os Organizadores não se responsabilizam pelos custos ou inconvenientes resultantes para os Participantes devido a tais alterações e adaptações.

Se a Conferência for adiada e/ou transferida, todas as taxas de inscrição serão transferidas para cobrir a participação nas novas datas e local da Conferência. Caso o Participante não queira aceitar o comparecimento na nova data, poderá cancelar sua inscrição; nesses casos, o Participante poderá solicitar o reembolso de sua inscrição.

O Participante compreende e concorda ainda que, durante este Simpósio e o Programa Social, poderão ser realizadas fotografias e vídeos e os Organizadores (Associação Portuguesa de Osteogénese Imperfeita – APOI e a Equipa Multidisciplinar de Displasias Ósseas da ULS Santa Maria) poderão utilizá-los para fins pedagógicos ou publicitários.

CANCELAMENTO DA CONFERÊNCIA PELO ORGANIZADOR

Caso os organizadores decidam cancelar integralmente a conferência, não havendo conteúdos ou sessões disponíveis online, as inscrições serão reembolsadas integralmente. Nestas circunstâncias, os Organizadores não são responsáveis por quaisquer outras despesas incorridas; isso inclui custos de viagem, visto e acomodação. Os Participantes são incentivados a ter seguro de viagem suficiente para cobrir tais custos.

SEGURO DE VIAGEM E ACIDENTES

Para proteção dos Participantes, será disponibilizado um Seguro coletivo para acidentes pessoais e responsabilidade civil. Para este efeito ou qualquer outro fim justificado, o Participante autoriza os Organizadores a fornecerem o seu nome a terceiros específicos (como, por exemplo, a companhia de seguros). 
A taxa da Conferência não inclui seguro individual de acidentes ou de viagem. Caso pretendam este tipo de cobertura, os Participantes deverão providenciar e contratar pessoalmente as suas escolhas.

PARTICIPAÇÃO NA CONFERÊNCIA

Recomenda-se que os participantes cheguem à sala de reuniões antes do início das sessões. Embora a Organização faça o seu melhor para dimensionar adequadamente a capacidade da sala, algumas sessões poderão ter mais sucesso do que o inicialmente planeado e, caso a capacidade da sala seja ultrapassada, os lugares sentados serão acessíveis por ordem de chegada.

Estão previstos “Lugares Reservados” para pessoas com necessidades especiais de mobilidade ou outras necessidades específicas.

A Comissão Organizadora reserva-se o direito, sem qualquer responsabilidade, de recusar o acesso ou solicitar a retirada de participantes que não cumpram os seguintes requisitos:

–  O Participante recusar ou não cumprir com estes Termos & Condições;–  A Comissão Organizadora considerar que o participante representa um risco de segurança ou um incómodo para a Conferência e/ou para os demais Participantes.

GRAVAÇÃO DE IMAGEM E VÍDEO

Os Participantes estão autorizados a fazer gravações, dentro do razoável, de vídeo ou áudio e a tirar fotografias do evento, em cada caso para uso pessoal. A publicação da gravação do evento requer autorização prévia por escrito do Organizador.

Os Participantes e palestrantes reconhecem e aceitam que a Conferência e as suas atividades relacionadas poderão ser filmadas e/ou gravadas, incluindo possíveis imagens dos Participantes. Os Participantes e palestrantes autorizam o Organizador e qualquer terceiro licenciado pelo Organizador a usar e comunicar tais imagens e gravações através de diversos meios de comunicação (incluindo meios sociais) para fins de compartilhamento de informações e comunicação na Conferência, bem como para fins educativos.

DIREITO DE PROPRIEDADE INTELECTUAL

O Bone Dysplasias 2026: Simpósio de Displasias Ósseas tem como objetivo promover o diálogo, a cooperação e a partilha de conhecimento nacional e internacional. Os palestrantes que apresentem na Conferência deverão:

1. Assegurar e garantir que as suas apresentações não violam qualquer direito de propriedade intelectual de terceiros;
2. Autorizar o Organizador, sem qualquer custo ou taxa:

• A filmar, gravar e tirar fotografias deles e das suas sessões e apresentações;
• A utilizar e divulgar textos, áudio, vídeos, materiais gráficos e conteúdos relacionados com as suas apresentações para fins informativos, promocionais e/ou educativos, sem qualquer restrição de tempo.

Caso os Oradores ou Moderadores tenham qualquer objeção, reserva ou restrição de direitos de propriedade intelectual relativamente à gravação, utilização ou divulgação da sua apresentação, deverão informar o Organizador, pelo menos 15 dias antes do início da conferência, através do email congresso@apoi.pt.

POLÍTICA DE PRIVACIDADE

Ao inscrever-se e/ou participar na Conferência, o Participante concorda com a Política de Privacidade constante no site da Conferência. Os Organizadores estão empenhados em oferecer uma Conferência que esteja em total conformidade com os regulamentos de proteção de dados aplicáveis. Caso identifique algum problema relacionado com privacidade, proteção de dados ou conformidade regulamentar, por favor informe-nos por correio eletrónico para congresso@apoi.pt.

DESACORDO

Em caso de litígio, as Partes comprometem-se a empregar todos os meios possíveis para chegar a uma resolução amigável dos litígios que possam surgir na sequência destes Termos & Condições.

Todas as disputas sob estes Termos & Condições serão encaminhadas a uma Comissão de Mediação que será integrada por dois representantes de cada Parte. Se não for possível chegar a um acordo, um mediador neutro será escolhido por ambas as Partes como instituição competente em caso de arbitragem.

LEI APLICÁVEL E JURISDIÇÃO

Estes Termos & Condições e qualquer disputa ou consentimento decorrente ou relacionado com eles serão regidos e interpretados de acordo com a Lei de Portugal.

DIVERSOS

Estes Termos & Condições substituirão qualquer ou todas as formas anteriores de entendimento oral ou escrito entre os Participantes e o Organizador.

Nenhuma variação destes Termos & Condições será efetivada a menos que publicada no site da Conferência ou feita por escrito e assinada por ambas as Partes.

BACKGROUND

The UNbreakable Alliance Project and its Bone Dysplasias 2026: Simpósio de Displasias Ósseas (hereafter referred to as the “Conference”) aim at supporting national and international dialogue and cooperation among experts, patients and families, and other stakeholders engaged in skeletal dysplasias.
The Conference is organised by an Organising Committee that gathers several organisations, including the Associação Portuguesa de Osteogénese Imperfeita (APOI) and the ULS Santa Maria Skeletal Dysplasia Multidisciplinary Team, member of the European Reference Network on Rare Bone Diseases (ERN-BOND) (hereafter referred to as the “UNbreakable Alliance” or the “Organiser”). With the aim of expanding and strengthening the UNbreakable Alliance, a new partner, Associação Nacional de Displasias Ósseas (ANDO Portugal), also joined the Core Team this year.
APOI is a non-profit national patients association aiming at promoting national and international cooperation and is in charge of managing the budget and registration to the Conference on behalf of the Organising Committee.

DEFINITIONS

Conference refers to the “Bone Dysplasias 2026: Simpósio de Displasias Ósseas” and related activities, such as social events, communication and registration process.

Organiser refers to the entities in charge of organising the Conference.

Participant refers to any legal or natural person that registers to and/or attends the Conference and/or its related activities, such as social events.

Part and Parts refers to the Organiser and the Participants.

PRINCIPLES

The Organisers are committed to respecting a set of principles that are published on the Conference website. The Participants commit to respect those principles, including by ensuring open and respectful debates and interactions with the speakers and other Participants based on mutual respect, and by supporting national and international dialogue and cooperation.

BOOKING AND REGISTRATION

Registrations and reservations for the Conference constitute a form of contractual agreement framed by these Terms and Conditions. Registrations and reservations will only be accepted after the online registration form has been fully completed and after receiving your contribution to cover expenses.
This is a charity event; the contribution of each participant aims to help cover expenses and costs of the organisation. Therefore, the value of your contribution or financial support will be treated as a “Donation to support the Unbreakable Alliance Project,” and you´ll receive a receipt that entitles you to tax benefits (PT – IRS), if applicable.
All payments must be made in euros and can be made via MBWay (938 932 336) at no additional cost to participants. Participants requesting payment by bank transfer must cover the relevant bank transfer fees.
In case of withdrawal of your registration, until April 16th, a refund of your contribution or the transfer of the registration to the name of another participant may be requested. After this data, refunds or name transfers will not be possible, including in cases of non-participation, for whatever reason.   
In specific cases, such as guest speakers, partners, or others appointed by the organisation, registration and associated participation costs will be the responsibility of the organisation.

MINORS OF AGE

The first two days of the Conference and its activities are designed for adult participants, therefore minors will not be allowed to attend.
However, on the third day (May 23rd) the activities are specifically aimed at families, so the Organisers is very pleased to welcome minors as well. To ensure compliance with all requirements, minors wishing to participate in the Conference must:
– obtain prior written consent from their parents, including these Terms & Conditions;
– complete the registration form with all requested information and authorize their name and other identifying information to be provided to specific third parties (such as, for example, the insurance company);
– be accompanied at all times by an adult who has authority over them (such as their parents, a person with parental authority, or their teacher) and who accepts full responsibility for them.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Neither Party shall be liable to the other for the temporary or definitive failure to perform all or part of its contractual obligations when such Party’s (the “Affected Party”) performance is prevented or delayed inter alia, by flood, drought, fire, war, riot, strike, act of terrorism, epidemic, pandemic, lock-down, act of government or any other cause beyond the Affected Party’s reasonable control (hereafter referred to as the “Force Majeure”).The Organiser will inform the Participants of the existence of a Force Majeure and, where applicable, shall propose means to remedy or mitigate the impact of the Force Majeure. Such notice may be given by e-mail or by a statement published on the Conference website.
In case of Force Majeure, the contractual obligations shall be suspended for the duration of the Force Majeure event. For the avoidance of doubt, the application of the Force Majeure event shall not be subject to any additional conditions other than those expressly set out herein.

The Organiser will inform the Participants of the existence of a Force Majeure and, where applicable, shall propose means to remedy or mitigate the impact of the Force Majeure. Such notice may be given by e-mail or by a statement published on the Conference website.
In case of Force Majeure, the contractual obligations shall be suspended for the duration of the Force Majeure event. For the avoidance of doubt, the application of the Force Majeure event shall not be subject to any additional conditions other than those expressly set out herein.

CONFERENCE ADAPTATIONS

All Parties agree and accept that the Organisers may adapt the format of the Conference to take into account external factors such as pandemic-related restrictions. While the plan is to hold a fully onsite conference, the Organisers may opt for a hybrid conference, a fully online conference, and/or decide to move the dates of the Conference to ensure a higher level of participation. The Organisers are deemed to have fulfilled all their obligations through the organising and deliverance of the Conference, regardless of its format. The Organisers are not responsible for resulting costs or inconvenience to Participants due to such changes and adaptations.

If the Conference be postponed and/or moved, all registration fees will be transferred to cover attendance on the new Conference dates and venue. If the Participant does not wish to accept attendance on the new date, he/she may cancel their registration; in such cases, the Participant can request a refund of his/her registration.
The Participant also understands and agrees that, during this Syimposium and Social Program, pictures and videos can be taken and the Organisers (Associação Portuguesa de Osteogénese Imperfeita (APOI) and the ULS Santa Maria Skeletal Dysplasia Multidisciplinary Team) can use them for pedagogical or advertising purposes.

CONFERENCE CANCELLATION BY THE ORGANISER

If the Organisers decide to cancel the conference in full, with no content or sessions being available online, registrations will be refunded in full. Under these circumstances, the Organisers are not liable for any other expenses incurred; this includes travel, visa, and accommodation costs. Delegates are encouraged to have sufficient travel insurance in place to cover such costs.

TRAVEL AND MEDICAL INSURANCE

For your protection, a group insurance for personal accidents and civil liability will be available. For this purpose or any other justified political purpose, you authorize the organisers to give your name to specific third parts (like, for instance, the insurance company). 
The Conference fee does not include individual health or travel insurance. Participants are requested to make their own arrangements for health and travel insurance if they consider it appropriate.

ATTENDANCE OF THE CONFERENCE

Participants are invited to arrive in the meeting room before the start of the sessions. While the Organiser does its best to dimension adequately the room capacity, some sessions may have more success than initially planned and seats will be accessible on a first come first served basis. 
Reserved Seats will be considered for people with mobility special needs or other specific needs.
The Organising Committee and the Organiser reserve the right, without any liability, to refuse access or reject Participants from the Conference where: (1) The Participant refuses or fails to comply with these Terms & Conditions; or (2) The Organising Committee and the Organiser considers that the participant represents a security risk, a nuisance, or an annoyance for the Conference and/or for the other Participants.

PICTURE AND VIDEO RECORDING

Participants are permitted to make reasonable video or audio recordings and to take photographs at the event, in each case for their own personal use. Publication of recording of the event requires prior written authorisation by the Organiser. 
Participants and speakers acknowledge and accept that the Conference and related activities may be filmed and/or recorded, including potential images of Participants. Participants and speakers authorise the Organiser and any third party licensed by the Organiser to use and communicate such images and recordings through diverse media (including social media) for the purpose of sharing information and communicating at the Conference, as well as for educational purposes.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

The Bone Dysplasias 2026: Simpósio de Displasias Ósseas aims at promoting national and international dialogue, cooperation and knowledge sharing. Speakers presenting at the Conference shall:

1. Ensure and guarantee that their presentations do not breach any third party intellectual property right;
2. Authorise the Organiser without any cost or fee:

• to film, record and take pictures of them, their sessions and presentations;
• to use and disseminate text, audio, video, graphic material, and content related to their presentations, for information, promotion and/or education purposes, without any time restriction.

In case Speakers or Moderators have any objection, reservation, or intellectual property right restriction regarding the recording, use or dissemination of their presentation, they shall inform the Organiser, at least 15 days before the start of the conference, by email at congresso@apoi.pt.

PRIVACY POLICY

By registering for and/or attending the Conference, the Participant agrees with the Privacy Policy displayed on the Conference website. The conference Organisers are committed to offering a conference that is fully compliant with the applicable data protection regulations. If you identify any issue related to privacy, data protection, or regulatory compliance, please inform us by mail at congresso@apoi.pt.

DISAGREEMENT

In case of a dispute, the Parties will commit to employing any possible means to reach an amicable resolution to disputes that may arise during these Terms & Conditions.
All disputes under these Terms & Conditions shall be referred to a Mediation Committee which shall be integrated by two representatives of each Party. If an agreement is not reached, a neutral mediator will be chosen by both Parties as the competent institution in case of arbitration.

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms & Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Law of Portugal. 

MISCELLANEOUS

These Terms & Conditions will supersede any or all prior oral or written forms of understanding between the Participants and the Organiser.

No variation of these Terms & Conditions shall be effective unless published on the Conference website or made in writing and signed by both Parties.

PREVAILING LANGUAGE

These Terms & Conditions are made available in Portuguese and English. In case of discrepancies between the two versions, the Portuguese version shall prevail.
